Thanks Jack. Yes the Race with Purpose team members are amazing people and what is equally cool is how down to earth they all are. You have to be a little bit irreverent to be a part of our culture, meaning that we start with the belief that we're all freaks, and it only gets more fun and more exciting from there. If you have a problem with forming a human blanket around a team member while she pees at the beginning of a race, you probably don't want to hang out with us ;-) We take our performance and our communities seriously but not ourselves.
that is the patriot's half! whew what a hot day! but i survived...slow, but I finished my first half!
thanks to your daughter for my medal! you can tel l her that her picture is all over my scrapbook of thse photos!
I used to do a race here in New York, the backwards mile, which was on my birthday, April 1. They dont do that one anymore. Last year I did a 'self supported' backwards 5k. That hurt enough to knwo i wont be doign all ten miles this year that way. but maybe the first 3 miles.
Sub 9:30. I held back a bit on the bike this year as it was my first IM. As well I got a cramp in my left groin due to the camber of the roads being opposite of what I usually run. This made me walk a fair amount on the second loop. I won't make the same mistake again!:>.
Thanks! 12hrs. Ideally I will be watching from Hammerhead fred's at that point. The wings are pretty good. Florida is fast, aim for 11:30 :>
cheers
