Great Guo, please give me your swim time so that I can add it to the records.

Thanks

Yeah, I did. Crowded... had to split a lane with someone else. Ended up with a few lane rope nicks, but I'm unscathed otherwise.

It's been over 5 months since I've either swam or run (although the last time I did was Singapore 70.3)... focussed on cycling for now. I'll become a triathlete again this summer. (=

Guo,

Congrats and Happy B-Day!

Thanks for the great pictures. I feel like I was out there with you Brrr is right!

It looks like you had a cold run, but a warm bike.

Did you make it to the pool?

Inquiring minds want to know?

Challenge complete!

Pool only opened at 11:45... I had a class at 1, so I had to push myself a little to wrap up everything.

132x25 yard laps of front crawl in 5 sets of 26 (with 2 laps warm up). 3300 yards ~= 2 miles. Finished in 54 minutes, which gives me an average of 24.5s a lap.

No pics for this one unfortunately... the pool was crowded, and I figured I'd look like a creep if I were to snap pictures of myself / the pool.

So... total time: ~2h 51min
2 mile swim: 54"
23 mile "bike": 1'30"
3 mile run: 27"17"'

I will have pictures of dinner tonight though... Birthday treat from my girlfriend. Union Oyster at downtown Boston. mmmm... (=

So now, it's a quick breakfast... before I start my swim. 132 laps... Gonna count the laps with alphabets. Anyone else do that?

Post ride: Turns out that the cereal does look a lot more appetizing after you've been riding. I was half bonked during the trainer ride... didn't have anything for breakfast apart from a powergel just before my run. Ended up wolfing down the cereal and a quart of water.

One and a half hours of riding, so says the timer on my cyclo-computer. Kept myself entertained by watching episodes of Futurama. Should make up 23 miles, don't you think?

This has got to be a first... blogging while on the trainer! Things you can do when you have a laptop, a wireless internet connection, and a sturdy trainer. Started my ride at 0815h, will keep going to 1000h. Zone 2, will throw in a few zone 4 intervals if I feel up to it. Currently in my small ring in front, 14 at the back. If any of you has ridden a Kurt Kinetic trainer before, you know what that feels like... it's harder than it sounds.

I've got sustenance in the form of a box of cereal and a bottle of water next to me. Hopefully that will last... the cereal doesn't look too appetizing right now, but it probably will an hour or so into the ride.

B-Fit B-Day Pics!

Night Before: Setting my alarm, laying out my running clothes...

Waking up: 0703h when I finally wake. It's snowing/sleeting outside... view from my window.

0720h: All dressed up and good to go.

0750h: Back... brrr, it was cold outside. Hands are red from the cold, despite gloves. Watch reads 27'17" for 3 miles...

0815h: After a quick setup, it's trainer time! I've got food with me for sustenance.

Somewhere between 0815 and 0945h: Riding on the trainer... timer reads 1 hour, then 1 hour 30 min.

Change of plans! Birthday Challenge Tomorrow!

Cos my cycling team is doing a long ride on Sunday, so won't be able to squeeze in a run or swim...

Will be doing a reverse triathlon, partly indoors.

3 mile run around the MIT Campus at 7am in the morning. My route is as follows: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1608665

2 hour trainer ride (Kurt Kinetic Trainer) from 8am - 10am, should easily make up the equivalent of 23 miles. Given I ride at about 20mph outdoors, I should easily complete this in 1 hour 15 minutes, b… Continue

Birthday Challenge this Sunday

So my birthday falls on this Sunday... 2 mile swim, 3 mile run, 23 mile bike; should be fun. (= Looks like there's a chance of a few snow showers here in Boston, but I should still be able to manage a bike ride outside.

I'll keep everyone posted with pics!
