Yesterday I did the gold challenge. 31 was great year to start, basically after the swim and the bike all I had to do was run a mile to loosen up after the ride.
My swim coach did my swim as a workout, it was tough but it breezed by quick. We have a meet coming up and Tuesday is a practice day so she counted the laps and I did what she told me. Lots of fly and drills, today my arms are very sore.
The bike was an adventure. My husband did it with me and the weather was gorgeous. Other than the weather every thing that could go wrong did, but even with the constant dismounting to cross hazardous crossings, getting covered in spider webs the whole ride,a dead end trail (10 miles into the ride big trucks were all over the bike trail and we could not get through), a backup trail that was in the worst condition ever, flood water on the trail, lots of gravel, men shooting hand guns right next to the bike trail, trying not to run over the hundreds of orange fuzzy catapillars that covered the trail, we finished. Usually we ride on the roads, I just thought it was a beautiful day.....why not ride on a beautiful trail. We made a note to ourselves no matter how scenic the Confluence trail is, we will never do it again!
There is not much to say about the run. Took a nice short jog around our neighborhood. Enjoyed the beautiful weather and thought that this is a great way to spend your birthday!
