Talk about cool fast service. I received my FREE sample of Hornet Juice on Saturday and gave it a shot on Sunday. It comes with a cool info packet on what it actually does which really surprised me. It states that it enables you to make use of calories stored as fat rather than using up all of your glycogen stores so quickly. Their graph makes a lot more sense that I can explain in this quick post. So, you're supposed to mix it with 8.5 ounces of water and consume 0-45 minutes before you start your exercise. I mixed up a packet and drank it on the way to meet one of my buddies for a planned 40 mile bike and 10 mile brick. I did my typical pre-exercise routine of eating and hydrating but screwed up royally and forgot to pack any fuel for the road except a gatorade. So, we were really about to see wha this hornet juice could do. I will have to say that I wasn't too keen on the taste. It left a little to be desired, but it was only 8.5 ounces. I sucked it up and finished it. I gave a packet to my training partner who felt the same. So energy wise throughout the ride, I felt great. I mainly focused on high cadence and keeping my speed around 20 mph. We both noticed a bit of a change in our energy level. Did we just have it that day or was it the hornet juice? Who knows. Throughout the 40 mile ride, I felt great despite having no other calories except my sports drink. I did pick up a pop tart at a gas station with hopes of being able to use it for the run. We completed a 10.5 mile running loop before finally popping with about three miles to go. My mistake for not taking enough calories with me. Overall, I'd give the Hornet Juice an A for performance. I'll definitely will carry a bottle of it on the ride next time for an added boost.
Rina here from HornetJuice.com and thanks for your insight on HJ! Yeah, well what can I say, we've got science on our side but all those lab studies and hype would mean nothing to you... until you actually feel the difference, eh? This is why our product gets stung (excuse the pun) by a lot of controversy (just because it actually works)...
As for the taste factor, try mixing it really well until most of it dissolves (probably a minute) so you don't get to taste that strong amino acid taste . But hey, if it still doesn't taste too good then remember the old adage (about medicine)... "If it tastes like sh*t, it must be good for you;-)

That sounds pretty similar to my first try of it as well. Forgot to eat before I went to the pool, but still seemed to have more energy than normal. Good day, or good product? I will have to test it some more before I decide, but it seemed to work. And I have never had a problem spending money for a placebo effect in the past, so even if it does nothing but make me THINK I have more energy, thats worth it, isn't it? :P
